Types of Asphalt Batch Mix Plant
As per the norms of different states, different types & capacities of asphalt plants are used to construct road. According to the tender release of particular region for certain kilometers of road, Contractors search for proper capacity of plant as per the tender. If contractor has tender passed for less than 2-2.5 crores then “DRUM MIX PLANT” is used & if more than 2.5crores then “ASPHALT BATCH MIX PLANT” is used. - Stationary Asphalt Batch Mix Plant
- Mobile Asphalt Batch Mix Plant
If contractor has more than one or two projects at different sites with the distance of more than 50-60 kms then Mobile plant is more preferable & if only one project at same site then Stationary plant is used.
With different capacities of Asphalt batch mix plant, storage silo can be incorporated for storing hot mix aggregate for final dispatch. Sometimes due to some difficulties on the way, loading truck finds difficult to reach the plant site at right time. In such cases insulated silo provided at the base of pug mill mixture helps in storing the hot aggregate mixture & will keep hot for little longer as insulation prevents heat loss & hence facilitates uniform spreading of the aggregate to construct smooth road.
Asphalt Batch Mix Plant With RAP System
“RAP” here stands for Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement System. In order to construct proper road, primarily it has to be leveled by removing the uneven layer of road. The resultant material obtained is used in Asphalt batch mix plant with RAP system & is processed and mixed with some hot bitumen to form hot aggregate for road construction. Mainly the federal highway body supports the use of recycled material in pavement construction in order to reduce pollution, protect nature & is an economic way to construct highways for 50% material of aggregate will be produced by recycling this pavement aggregate obtained by breaking the old, tear, and uneven road.
